ME

About Me

I’m passionate about photography and have been for as long as I can remember.  Those who know me well will tell you that I'm rarely more than a few feet away from a camera and always taking photos - it's like photography is in my DNA!

After years of interest in photography with compact cameras, I first learnt the art of using an SLR eighteen years ago when I took evening classes in photography. As my experience grew, I went on to gain City and Guilds (Levels 1, 2 & 3) in Photography, passing every module with Distinction.  In 2011 I was awarded a Distinction (LRPS) with the prestigious Royal Photographic Society, which I remain a member of today.

I love all types of photography, but particularly love being outdoors snapping landscapes and people. The outdoor setting produces great natural shots using what nature gave us as a backdrop.  I'm also experienced in capturing all the fun and action of numerous events including birthday parties, corporate events, special days, and even street parties!

Why Learn Photography with Me?

As well as a being photographer, I'm also an experienced and qualified (PGCE) trainer and have taught a number of subjects over the past years. Learning with me will be fun and informal and I understand that everyone learns at different speeds.  I'll present photography to you at the right level and in a way you'll understand.  As a qualified trainer, I'm also a registered member of Society for Education and Training (SET), and have current Qualified Teacher Staus (QTLS) in the Lifelong Learning Sector.

I love helping people learn photography; particularly beginners and improvers who want to really understand their cameras, grasp the key skills of lighting, composition, and how to use their camera to its best.  I train photography in groups through structured and informative one day workshops, or on a one to one basis if you prefer - be it at your home or favourite location in the area Herts or Beds.

If you're interested in learning, feel free to CONTACT ME for a chat about your photography or camera.
